Brief History of BBMCU:

The journey was launched about 2 years ago. Few students of Brahmanbaria Medical College called for a meeting to the central “Noushin Gallery” of Brahmanbaria Medical College. The theme of the meeting was to do something for the poor & underpreviliged peoples. “A general student will deals with man made inert things where a medical student have to deal with the living human body. A medical student should be unique to his activities from the general student from the day when he takes the Hipocratic oath. Because, peoples have the hope on us,they trust us,they expects something from us by putting the belief that only we can give them their due. A medical student has to realise the feelings of all class of human being from the beginning of his journey to become a doctor. He should stay beside the poor & underpreviliged people.” -Speech was delivered by a student of that meeting. At the end of his speech, we sum up that we are medical students & only we have the opportunity to stay beside them in different way. Then we started to think how to accomplish the dream of helping people. The concerning part of our thinking that we had not enough students to establish & carry out a new organization. At that moment our honorable seniors Md. Emdadul Haq Chowdhury (Sompod)[Former President (2018-19) & General Secretary(2017-18),

Dr. Mahmudur Rahman Shabbir[President,2017-18] & Shafayet Hossain Chowdhury[Former Genereal Secretary(2018-19)] did not give the chance to lose our hope.They proposed the name of Medicine club which is based on the motto,”Learn & Let others learn to serve the humanity in the best possible manner” & also gave a preliminary idea of the activities of Medicine Club in a nutshell. All of the students eagerly showed interest to their proposal. After a few days we started communicating with the Central committee to be a part of Medicine Club family to help the poor & underpreviliged people. They called us to participate the 19th central Conference that was held by SOMCU. The five students lead the path of foundation of Medicine Club,Brahmanbaria Medical College Unit by participating the 19th Central conference among them Mahmudur Rahman Shabbir & Md.Al-almin Hossain from BBMC-01,Md. Emdadul Haq Chowdhury(Sompod) from BBMC-02, Mohammad Bayezid & Md.Saidul Islam.from BBMC-03.

Our convening committee had been approved on December 2016 in #19th Central Conference which was held by SOMCU. After getting convening committee we arrange quite a few programme on behalf of medicine club. Thereby,we have been declared as a unit of medicine club in #20th central conference on november 2017 which was held by GSVMCU. Within 6 months after getting declaration as a unit,we have successfully arranged the #8th Half Yearly Conference on 6th April,2018. It was not easy for a new unit but if you have the honest desire to do something you can definitely find a way to accomplish this that’s why we did it successfully. We are very grateful to medicine club,AMUMCU who supported us especially our present CGS Noushin Nowar who helped us from the very beginning of our journey till now & giving us proper instructions.To be honest,we could not be here as a “Unit” without having the directions from her.

That is how Medicine Club,Brahmanbaria Medical College Unit started its journey to serve the humanity in the best possible manner.
